Methodology and checks
We use legislation and published guidance from the relevant authorities for rates and thresholds. Each tool links to its sources and shows the year covered by the calculation.
Automated tests check known scenarios and values close to thresholds, including in the comparison of four business structures. For net salary, Article 5C and investment tax, we also compare results with a separate implementation of the rules.
The source-check date shows when we checked published rules and guidance. “Professional review pending” means a qualified professional has yet to complete a review.
How to use the results
Start by reading the tool’s assumptions, especially if you have a special insurance arrangement, income from several sources or less than a full year of employment. The estimates are for information. For a tax return, payroll decision or choice of business form, ask an accountant or other qualified professional to review your circumstances.
